Q: I have a friend that works in administration but recently the company's canteen has fallen under her portfolio so part of her job is to check items in the fridge in that they are expired or not. If expired she must throw it out. Some of those products are meat products that are not halal including pork. What is the ruling when it comes to her job taking into account this was not originally part of her job when she started in the position?

It is not correct for her to check on something that is haraam.

She should try to firstly leave that position and explain her reasons behind it. If this is not possible and they insist that she does that job then she should continue working there until she finds another job, making taubah and Istighfaar, and try her best not to handle haraam products directly.
